Help your kids learn the parable of the prodigal son - and Luke 15:24 - with this fun parable of the prodigal son craft for kids!
The Parable of the Prodigal Son
Read Luke 15:11-32 as a family before you begin your craft. In the ESV, our focus verse, Luke 15:24, says:
“‘For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate.”
As you make your craft, discuss:
- How did the younger son treat his father? How do we treat our Heavenly Father when we live in unrepentant sin?
- The word prodigal means a person who spends money recklessly.
- How did the younger son come to a point where he wished he could eat the food he was feeding the pigs?
- What did the son do?
- How did his father respond?
- Why was the older son upset?
- What did the father tell him?
- How should we approach our Heavenly Father?
- How does God respond to sinners who repent of their sin and believe in Jesus?
- How should we act when sinners come to salvation?
Talk about repentance and what it means to ask God to forgive our sins.
