Jesus' lost sheep parable, Luke 15:1-7, explains the value of saved sinners. Kids will copy Luke 15:7 in this parable of the lost sheep craft.
Parable of the Lost Sheep
Read Luke 15:1-7 as a family before you begin your craft. In the ESV, our focus verse, Luke 15:7, says:
“Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.”
As you make your craft, discuss:
- Why were the Pharisees and scribes upset about Jesus eating with sinners?
- Imagine your friend or sibling was missing during a playdate. Would looking for them be the right thing to do? How would you feel when you found them?
- How does Jesus describe the joy of the man who finds his lost sheep?
- In verse 7, what does Jesus tell us occurs in heaven when one sinner repents and follows Jesus?
Talk about repentance and what it means to ask God to forgive our sins.
