Moses and the Red Sea Puppets
The story of Moses and the burning bush is found in the book of Exodus chapter 14. During their exodus from Egypt, God led his people to the edge of the Red Sea, where they became trapped between the sea and the approaching armies of Egypt. With nowhere else to turn, God's people cried out to him for help.
God showed himself to be all-powerful when he used Moses to part the Red Sea, saving his people. Then, God defeated the army of Egypt when he closed the sea on top of them. It's an amazing story your kids will want to hear again and again.
This fun craft will allow your kids to construct a number of Bible puppet crafts: Moses, Aaron, Pharaoh, a horse and chariot, two Egyptians, two camels, and two sides of the Red Sea.
Why Did the Exodus Happen?
Learn all about God’s character through a major event in the history of Israel: the Exodus. God’s people had been in slavery in Egypt for hundreds of years. But God had promised their ancestors that the people of Israel would have their own land someday. So, they cried out to God and he heard them and rescued them. He used a shepherd and his brother to lead a nation of slaves in opposition to the most powerful ruler of the world’s most powerful kingdom.
Our God wants us to know him. There is none like God in all the earth. He is holy, faithful, sovereign, our Savior, and all-powerful. God is always with us, always our caring provider, and always victorious. This is the story of the Exodus (the word means 'to depart from') and the people God led from Egypt. God used the Exodus event to teach his people who he is.

Christian History Matters for Our Kids.
History matters. Now, more than ever, we see how important it is for our children to know and understand history and the Bible. Here's why:
- God is the sovereign ruler of all things. It's important for our kids to see his hand in the history of nations and in the lives of both peasants and kings.
- Christian history is the story of our family history. Our kids get to see how people who love Jesus follow him.
- Understanding history can help our kids learn historic and biblical theology. They learn what the Bible says and what that means for us. They also see when the study of Scripture has taken important turns that have changed the Church.
- Reading Christian biographies and history can be a wonderful way for kids to think outside their own time and culture. God's Church spans centuries and includes people from every nation.
- Christian biographies help kids consider their own faith, walk with Jesus, and the impact their witness may one day have on others--and on history.
Elementary-aged kids need middle grade resources that are fun, a little sassy, and that teach valuable lessons.
The Who What Why Series is the perfect resource to teach your kids about history, while helping them apply biblical truths to their lives today.
