Moses and the Burning Bush Puppets
The story of Moses and the burning bush is found in the book of Exodus chapter 3. God heard the cry of his chosen people, the Israelites, and then called Moses--who was in exile, working as a shepherd--to serve him as their messenger and rescuer. The story of God calling Moses from a bush that was burning, but was not consumed, is a fabulous account of our miraculous God.
Your kids can read all about the story of Moses and the burning bush in my narrative biography from Christian Focus Publications, Who Was Moses?. The book is a fun way for your kids to learn about a man who knew God face-to-face, wrote 5 books of the Bible, and was an important prophet in the Old Testament.
This fun craft will allow your kids to construct three Bible puppet crafts: Moses, the burning bush, and a sheep.
Who Was Moses?
This engaging book follows the life of one of the most important figures in the bible and recounts key events such as the burning bush, the ten plagues, the parting of the Red Sea, and the receiving of the Ten Commandments. Far from being a boring biography, the narrative is engaging and there are plenty of pictures and maps included. Readers are also pointed to God’s big picture and will discover how the life of Moses relates to us today.
Our story speeds forward again until Moses is eighty years old. Watching sheep in the desert must have been humbling for our former prince. Yet, Moses became a caring shepherd who knew the wilderness of Sinai well.
One day, Moses was on Mount Sinai--also called Horeb--when he saw a bush on fire, but not burning up. Naturally, Moses walked over to see what was going on. That's when he heard God call him, right out of the middle of the bush, "Moses, Moses!"

Christian History Matters for Our Kids.
History matters. Now, more than ever, we see how important it is for our children to know and understand history and the Bible. Here's why:
- God is the sovereign ruler of all things. It's important for our kids to see his hand in the history of nations and in the lives of both peasants and kings.
- Christian history is the story of our family history. Our kids get to see how people who love Jesus follow him.
- Understanding history can help our kids learn historic and biblical theology. They learn what the Bible says and what that means for us. They also see when the study of Scripture has taken important turns that have changed the Church.
- Reading Christian biographies and history can be a wonderful way for kids to think outside their own time and culture. God's Church spans centuries and includes people from every nation.
- Christian biographies help kids consider their own faith, walk with Jesus, and the impact their witness may one day have on others--and on history.
Elementary-aged kids need middle grade resources that are fun, a little sassy, and that teach valuable lessons.
The Who What Why Series is the perfect resource to teach your kids about history, while helping them apply biblical truths to their lives today.
